Ayurveda, a Sanskrit word, loosely translates to "the science of life." It is a 5,000 + year system from India that emphasizes wellness, slowing the aging process, and balance of the being. It uses yoga, meditation, food/herbal nutrition, lifestyle and Ayurvedic treatments to support balance of the individual.
At World Arts East , you will experience Ayurvedic treatments from India and Thailand that help to release muscle tension, cleanse toxins, relieve inflammation and soreness, reduce stress, and nourish the skin.

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage is a dynamic bodywork therapy that integrates acupressure, Ayurvedic principles and yoga postures. The client is guided through a series of yoga postures, while palming and thumbing along the body's energy lines and pressure points. The treatment is performed on a special mat on the floor. The client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement.

Padabhyanga

Padabhyanga, uses Ayurvedic reflexology on the feet and lower legs. Warm, herbal oils are applied and promote a sense of calm.

Shirodhara

Shirodhara is an Ayurvedic treatment that applies a continuous stream of warm, herbal oil to the middle of the forehead to create a deep sense of calm. A gentle mini massage is given to the feet and neck area to support relaxation, followed by the application of the warm oil stream.

Abhyanga

Abhyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic full body massage treatment that uses warm and specially blended herbal oils to balance the individual and the doshas (or principles); which include Vata (air principle), pitta(fire principle), and Kapha(earth principle).

Benefits: Improves circulation, nourishes the skin and helps its overall appearance and tone, boosts immune system, reduces muscle stiffness, combats the problems associated with aging, and promotes a deep sense of well being
